Hershey Felder Our Great Tchaikovsky

Experience a moving blend of piano virtuosity and musical biography, in Hershey Felder’s new play about Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Our Great Tchaikovsky is a time-bending tale of music, politics and one of the world’s most beloved composers.

Tchaikovsky was known for his beautiful ballets Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, and the ferocious and melodic brilliance of his symphonic works, piano concerti, overtures, operas and chamber music.

But in 1893, a healthy 53-year-old Tchaikovsky conducted the premiere of his enigmatic Symphony No. 6, ‘Pathétique’ and, nine days later, he was dead. To this day, how and why he died is still a mystery.

This is your chance to see award-winning actor and musician Hershey Felder’s brilliant new creation, as the playwright returns from an acclaimed US tour.

Performances will run from Thursday 21st September – Friday 20th October at The Other Palace Theatre, London.

Age recommendation: 12+
