Dougie Scarfe at the ABO Conference

Classic FM’s Anne-Marie Minhall spoke with Orchestra of Opera North’s Chorus and Orchestra Director

Classic FM’s Orchestra in Yorkshire has plenty to shout about in 2012. From a revival of Opera North’s acclaimed production of Madama Butterfly through to their very first production of Wagner’s Ring Cycle, the next few months will be incredibly busy for the ensemble.

Anne-Marie Minhall caught up with Dougie Scarfe, Orchestra of Opera North’s Chorus and Orchestra Director, to chat about an eventful year. As well as taking part in this year’s ABO Conference (and taking notes as hosts for next year’s conference), Dougie was keen to tell Anne-Marie about how his orchestra’s motto - to develop the artist, the audience and the art form – would inform a very, very busy year indeed.
