The World's Greatest Music
For the past 400 years, the guitar has probably been the most popular and accessible of all instruments. Here we showcase 20 of the instrument’s greatest classical exponents.
Yepes made his Madrid début in 1947 performing Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez. His overwhelming success brought him renown from critics and public alike. In 1964, he performed it again with the Berlin Philharmonic, premièring a 10-string guitar which he invented. A significant scholar, he discovered numerous 16th and 17th-century works for guitar or lute.
