To celebrate our 21st birthday, we've put together some of the greatest 21s in classical music, from opus 21s and symphony 21s to the year 1921 - did your favourite 21 make it in there?
The 21st piece that Chopin wrote happened also to be written when he was almost 21 years old. Which, if you listen to the incredible complexity and depth of the concerto, is remarkable. Interestingly, and confusingly, it was written before the piano concerto no. 1, but due to a publishing quirk, it was only ever known as the second.
