The World's Greatest Music
Turning 21 is quite the milestone birthday. On 7 September 2013, Classic FM celebrates 21 years of broadcasting - but what had the great composers achieved by this age?
The great genius Ludwig van Beethoven turned 21 in December 1791, but he was something of a child prodigy. By March 1783 he'd already written a series of keyboard variations (he was just 12 years old), and began working as a paid employee in courts of Bonn in his early teens. He also made a start on his Opus 19 Piano Concerto, his Opus 39 piano preludes, a series of uncategorised songs, and a selection of piano works before hitting adulthood.
