Stephen Hough's French Album

20 August 2012, 11:14 | Updated: 6 January 2017, 14:45

Stephen Hough's take on colourful French piano classics with a few eccentric surprises along the way.

Pianist Stephen Hough describes his latest offering as a 'musical dessert trolley', and it's easy to see why. Sweet French classics like Debussy's Clair de Lune and Fauré's Nocturnes and Impromptus are interspersed with Hough's own arrangements of the delicate Pizzicati by Delibes, and Massenet's flowing Crépuscule.

The French-inspired music shows off the musical fruits of 19th and 20th Century France, given a modern twist by one of Britain's best-loved and most in-demand pianists. A real treat!
