How to make a recorder from a carrot

A crucial public service video

Who needs an instrument when you can make music with a vegetable! All you need is a carrot and some simple tunes – and here’s a video to show you how it’s done.

Dan Woods is a musician and one half of music and comedy act Can You Dig It (find out more here).

In this video he takes you step-by-step through the surprisingly simple process of turning a root vegetable into a recorder.

Well, technically, it’s an ocarina, but that’s a detail.

There are detailed instructions over on Dan's YouTube channel – and as he points out, if it all goes wrong you can always turn your recorder into some tasty soup instead!
