Sponnaissance is a group of students from Sponne School learning about the music from the Renaissance period in a hands-on way.

The performance is designed to give a flavour of Renaissance musical life through song, instrumental repertoire and dance. Many of the students do not do singing as a first study and have learnt to play the crumhorns in a short period of time. It is a tremendous achievement to learn this complex repertoire from memory.

Sponnaissance are interviewed (above), by Classic FM's Tim Lihoreau, host of the More Music Breakfast.
