They're singers, rappers, beatboxers, a choir and a live band - all in one. Tim Lihoreau caught up with Vocalize at the Music For Youth Schools Prom.

Vocalize - all pupils at Sedgehill School in south London - love to express themselves musically and record their own material on the school’s own record label XFade.

Merging urban, pop and RnB in a more formal ensemble has encouraged dynamic and fun arrangements of existing, and students' own, compositions.

"We try to write original material," Andy Gilbert, Sedgehill School's Musician in Residence, told Classic FM's Tim Lihoreau. "We try to do arrangements together. It's collaborative."

The group brings an infectious energy and enthusiasm to rehearsals, recordings and live performances.
