East Riding Senior Percussion Ensemble at the Schools Prom

As the Music For Youth Schools Prom gets under way, Classic FM's Tim Lihoreau has been chatting to some of the performers backstage at the Royal Albert Hall. Here he meets members of the East Riding Senior Percussion Ensemble.

The talented eight-piece ensemble was formed in the early 1990s with the aim of providing regular ensemble provision for percussion players in the East Riding.

Since 2010 a generous donation by the Friends of the East Riding Youth Orchestras provided a fully equipped percussion studio, giving the group more opportunity to rehearse and perform together.

Classic FM's Tim Lihoreau caught up with two members from the East Riding Percussion Ensemble ahead of their astonishing performance at the Music For Youth Schools Proms on Monday night.
