Moscow Sololists & Yuri Bashmet

The highly-acclaimed Moscow Soloists under their charismatic artistic director, Yuri Bashmet return to the Barbican as part of the UK's 'Year of Russian Culture'.

This unique concert will be performed on the world's finest instruments - by Antonio Stradivari and other Italian masters - provided by the Russian State Collection and the Collection of the Royal Academy of Music. The orchestra plays an exciting Russian/British programme of works by Britten, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky.

Shostakovich Symphony for Viola and Strings (String Quartet No. 13 in B Flat Minor Op. 138 arranged by Alexander Tchaikovsky)

The concert will be one of 250 events which form part of the UK-Russia Year of Culture 2014 and will celebrate the rich and diverse cultural heritage of both countries, demonstrating the strong links and collaboration between the Russian and British Arts industries.
