The London Philharmonic Orchestra presents the eagerly anticipated world premiere of Henryk Górecki’s Fourth and final Symphony conducted by Andrey Boreyko at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall on Saturday 12 April 2014.

Commissioned by the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007, the originally scheduled 2010 world premiere performance was postponed due to Górecki's ill health, and at the time of his untimely death in November 2010, the Symphony was finished in short score with detailed annotations of orchestration and dynamics, as was the composer’s usual practice.

The full orchestral score has been completed by Górecki’s son Mikolaj, also a composer, following his father’s instructions and employing his own extensive knowledge of his father's orchestral works and instrumentation. Get your tickets for this year’s unmissable event.
 
The London Philharmonic Orchestra is supported for this concert by a grant from the Adam Mickiewicz Institute as part of the Polska Music Programme. It is also receiving support from the Polish Cultural Institute in London.
