Gramophone Awards 2015 winners announced

Conductor Bernard Haitink wins Lifetime Achievement Award, while one of Claudio Abbado's final recordings takes the coveted Recording of the Year Award

Bernard Haitink has won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Gramophone Awards, while fellow conductor Paavo Järvi took the Artist of the Year award, which is voted for by the public.

Claudio Abbado's recording of Bruckner's Symphony No.9, performed by the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, was named Recording of the Year. Abbado, who died in 2014, recorded some of his greatest recordings in the final years of his life. The Award was collected by Claudio Abbado's son, Sebastian.
