Diaries of Hope

Leading Polish film composer Zbigniew Preisner conducts the Britten Sinfonia strings and Crouch End Festival Chorus in the UK premiere of Diaries of Hope – a new work inspired by the diaries and poems of Polish children who were victims of the Holocaust.

Lisa Gerrard from spellbinding duo Dead Can Dance – nominated for an Oscar for her vocals on major film Gladiator and two Golden Globes for The Insider and Ali – performs in the principal vocal role alongside boy soprano Archie Buchanan.

Best known for his scores for the films of Krzysztof Kieslowski (Dekalog, The Double Life Of Veronique, Three Colours Blue and more) and for Requiem for my friend (his moving tribute to Kieslowski), Preisner is one of the most celebrated film composers of his generation and recipient of many accolades including a Silver Bear from the Berlin Film Festival and two Césars from the French Film Academy.
