The Bristol Proms Fanfare Competition

Bristol Proms is calling for submissions for a work lasting no more than 4 minutes and scored for three trumpets by 1st June 2015 to be judged by a panel of classical musicians and leading creatives.

Bristol Proms is thrilled to launch a competition to compose a trumpet fanfare to celebrate the spirit of Bristol.

Composers across the country have the chance to win £1,000 and the opportunity to have their worked broadcast on Classic FM and performed by professional musicians at the opening of Bristol Proms 2015 in July.

The winning work will then be presented to the Mayor of Bristol to become the city’s first official fanfare during the celebrations of the 800th anniversary of the investiture of the city of Bristol in 2016 – and for celebratory use across the city over the next 100 years.
