Alexandre Desplat wins Bafta for Grand Budapest Hotel score

French composer Alexandre Desplat has won the Original Music Bafta award, beating off competition from Hans Zimmer.

Desplat said he was "very honoured", adding: "It all goes back to [director] Wes [Anderson]. Wes is unique - his world looks like nobody else's."

Desplat beat off competition from fellow nominees Mica Levi for Under the Skin, Hans Zimmer for Interstellar, Antonio Sanchez for Birdman and Johann Johannsson for The Theory of Everything.
