John Williams: Seven Years In Tibet

The Film: Austrians Heinrich Harrer and Peter Aufschnaiter are imprisoned by the British in India at the beginning of World War II in 1939  but escape to Tibet in 1944. They are ordered to return to Tibet but are welcomed at Lhasa and introduced to the young Dalai Lama. Harrer becomes his tutor and friend.

The Score: Movie maestro John Williams wrote this evocative and lushly Romantic score, which also showcases the talents of the popular and highly talented cellist Yo Yo Ma.
