Fausta Truffa, the old lady who sings Verdi with more joy than singers half her age

Soprano Fausta Truffa took centre stage during a performance of music from Verdi’s La forza del destino.

A quick Google search doesn’t tell us Truffa’s exact age (and it’d be rude to reveal it, obviously), but suffice is to say that she’s in utterly splendid voice for a woman of her vintage.

Truffa sings ‘La Vergine degli angeli’ from the opera, an aria which describes the beauty of the virgin of the angels and her protecting powers.
