Conductor and composer Karl Jenkins took time out of his busy rehearsal schedule to chat to Tim Lihoreau at the Royal Albert Hall.

Karl Jenkins' beautiful 'Benedictus' from The Armed Man was premiered at the Royal Albert Hall back in 2000. He's back, 12 years on, to perform the piece for us at our 20th birthday Classic FM Live extravaganza, with the Crouch End Festival Chorus.

His music has been championed by Classic FM playlist for many years. Despite its popularity, Karl didn't think his pieces would connect with people as much as they have done.

"What some people might consider my three most popular pieces, Adiemus, Benedictus, and Palladio, each one I wrote, I didn't think it would be anything special - and I still don't!"
