Reverie Claude Debussy
Yolanda Kondonassis delightfully plays an album full of harp pieces and transcriptions from Debussy
Repertoire: Debussy's Harp
Artists: Yolanda Kondonassis (harp)
Label: Telarc CD 80622
There’s something about Debussy’s music that lends itself to the harp, especially that he used the instrument in all his late orchestral works. The one piece he specifically wrote for the harp, Danses sacrée et profane, is on the album, but otherwise they’re mostly transcriptions of well known piano works including the atmospheric Clair de Lune and La fille aux cheveux de lin. Beautifully played by Yolanda Kondonassis.
