Debbie Wiseman: Wilde

Soundtracking the Stephen Fry movie of the same name, Debbie Wiseman's literary-inspired music from Wilde is as much about the man as it is the film.

Debbie Wiseman's score for the Stephen Fry-starring biopic of Oscar Wilde, inspiringly titled 'Wilde', has become as well loved as the film that inspired it. The poet, wit and general legendary cultural figure of Oscar Wilde himself also looms large over the work, and it's clear that Wiseman's inspiration was as much from his works than merely the work of the movie.

It's not her only musical dalliance with Wilde, either - Wiseman also wrote a series of pieces inspired by Wilde's fairy stories, which was nominated for a Grammy Award and was eventually turned into a series of animations for Channel 4.
