The young brass musician calls us from New York to talk about her sky-rocketing career and appearance at Classic FM Live.

The next stop on Tine Thing Helseth’s busy itinerary will be The Royal Albert Hall for a little shindig called Classic FM Live. For the rising superstar, it will be another milestone racked up in a dizzying ascent to classical music’s top table.

On the phone from New York, the young trumpeter had just finished a mini tour of the US, including a debut at Carnegie Hall where rave reviews followed enthusiastically.

Tine Thing Helseth started to play trumpet at the age of 7 and has become one of the leading trumpet soloists of her generation, but she's not averse to a bit of retail therapy, as Bob Jones found out when he spoke to her during her US trip.
