The orchestra is attempting to raise £3,000 towards the new Radiohead-inspired commission by Steve Reich with premieres in London in March 2013.

Radiohead fans and classical music lovers alike are being called upon to pledge their support for Steve Reich's latest commission. The orchestra are looking to raise the final £3,000 towards the commission by 27 February.

Sponsors will be rewarded for their donation with a unique gift, ranging from a digital certificate of thanks for those who pledge £10 or more, to a personalised card and a meeting with the composer himself for anyone who donates £1,000 or more.

London Sinfonietta Chief Executive Andrew Burke said: "We can promise you a journey of discovery towards the first performance and a way for you to get more closely involved in making a new piece of contemporary music happen - and one which we hope and believe is going to be a really important contribution to the landscape of new music."

Inspired by the music of Radiohead, Radio Rewrite is the latest work by Reich, and the first composition for larger ensemble in recent years. The 76-year-old composer was inspired to create the work after watching Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood perform Electric Counterpoint in Poland in 2011.
