The South West Camerata chamber orchestra were joined by beat boxer JC, an MP3 scratcher DJ and a host of digital instruments including iphone flutes and theramins as part of the launch week for the Department for Children, Schools and Families Year of Music campaign Tune In

It is about encouraging and supporting interest and participation in experiences that could enhance a child or young person's life, both now and in the future.
Extensive research shows engaging in music can significantly improve both academic and emotional development including language development, numeracy, social skills, physical development and emotional intelligence. It can also inspire creativity, improve concentration skills, encourage motivation and determination and build social and life skills.
Secretary of State, Ed Balls stated; "I want to create a generation of talented performers who can sing, dance, play instruments and fly the flag for Great Britain."
