Tenor with the huge-selling opera trio Sol3 Mio Pene Pati has recorded an emotional video blog detailing his recent experience with a young drunk driver.

The singer, who usually joins his brother and cousin in the phenomenally successfully trio Sol3 Mio, opened up about the incident, wherein he and another cousin came across a difficult situation when driving in their native New Zealand.

Something to have a think about it. I dont usually vlog unless im singing. However, this incident tonight really got me...

Pati tells of a 15-year-old boy he and his cousin found while driving. The boy had been, according to Pati, drinking and driving to numb the pain of his homelife.

The tenor intervened and spoke to the youth about his situation.

Visibly upset by the incident, Pati concludes the video by saying, “There are people like that out there who just need a helping hand.”

Here’s Pene singing in the final round of the Operalia singing competition from earlier this year:

Ah! leve toi soleil! the final round of the competition :)
