Flautist Sir James Galway shared his memories of performing at London's Royal Albert Hall ahead of his performance at Classic FM Live.

Taking some time out from rehearsals, the 'man with the golden flute' shared his special memories of playing at the Royal Albert Hall, including a notable performance with the conducting legends Sir Malcolm Sargent and Sir Colin Davis. But it's not just the classical musicians who make the venue memorable.

"This hall is very special," he said. "I think every great musician in the world has played here. The other day I saw a great programme with Eric Clapton and Cream from here, it was just amazing."

This evening he'll be playing Borne's Carmen Fantasy and Mercadante's Rondo Russo from Flute Concerto in E minor, but he treated us to a quick live performance ahead of tonight's show.
