Raymond Gubbay has told Classic FM that he is determined for his seasonal concerts to continue across the UK despite the arctic conditions.
"It would have been nice if Santa had turned up a little early with his sleigh and helped - that would have been a lot easier than relying on the trains and aeroplanes. But we haven't lost any shows yet."
The concerts that Raymond Gubbay promotes are a logistical nightmare at the best of times. At the Royal Albert Hall alone he’s staging 24 shows – sometimes three a day. Add snow and you have potential chaos, but Gubbay is remarkably calm about the situation. His main concern is for the audiences who have booked far in advance and are disappointed when they can't attend.
"It's very sad because they've booked these things up way ahead, they are sell-out concerts. But we're doing our best to accommodate people either at later Christmas concerts or in the New Year. "
