Philharmonia rock London's Mela festival

Classic FM's Orchestra on Tour, the Philharmonia Orchestra, performed at the London Mela festival on Sunday, including a London premiere of a Holst work

Philharmonia Orchestra wowed a West London festival crowd on Sunday with their London premiere performance of a Holst work, Indra. The Mela festival took place in Gunnersbury and saw the Philharmonia, Classic FM's Orchestra on Tour, collaborate with singer Jaz Dhami and the Bollywood Brass Band.

Alongside the Holst premiere, they also performed works by Ravi Shankar and performed with the Bhavan Centre. Holst was once a local resident to the festival, which celebrated South Asian Culture with sets from a host of Asian pop performers.

The annual festival also featured a host of dance displays, a carnival, Bollywood karaoke, Bhangracise and theatre.
