The Pavel Haas Quartet are gaining a considerable amount of attention as one of the most exciting ensembles around. Classic FM's Tim Lihoreau caught up with the quartet's cellist Peter Jarusek to talk about the group's incredible year.
The critically acclaimed quartet, made up of Veronika Jaruskova and Eva Karova on violin, Pavel Nikl on Viola and Peter Jarusek on Violoncello, were recently awarded the coveted Recording of the Year prize at the Gramophone Awards for their wonderful recording of Dvořák Quartets Nos. 12 (American) and 13.
The ensemble have also just completed a short run of very warmly received recitals across the UK, which saw the quartet performing the same Dvořák Quartets alongside works by Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky and Beethoven.
