The World's Greatest Music
Katherine Jenkins showcases some of the most beautiful operatic pieces, sung by some of the world’s most brilliant voices.
Among those who were initially hugely influenced by Bellini was Giusppe Verdi. He was the composer who took Italian opera to new, unexplored heights. Rather than just showing off the human voice, he developed a style of composition where all the different musical elements are employed to serve the story. 'There are so many great Verdi operas to discover - they’re all intensely dramatic, with full-blooded arias, stirring marches, and tremendous choruses like this one from Verdi’s Il Trovatore, the Troubadour,' says Katherine.
