The Nutcracker comes to London

This Christmas the Birmingham Royal Ballet's highly acclaimed production of Tchaikovsky’s best-loved ballet, The Nutcracker, comes to the O2 in London. Classic FM's Lucy Coward caught up with ballet dancer Victoria Marr to find out all about this extraordinary production.

Directed by Sir Peter Wright, the Birmingham Royal Ballet's production of the Christmas Classic has wowed audiences worldwide with its breath taking set, dazzling costumes and stunning dancers. The BRB will be hoping to follow the critical and commercial success of the Royal Ballet's production of Romeo and Juliet which was staged at The O2 in June and was watched by nearly 50,000 people.

Ballet dancer Victoria Marr has been part of the Birmingham Royal Ballet since 1996k, performing in several major productions including The Nutcracker, in which she performs the Arabian Dance.

Classic FM's Lucy Coward caught up with Victoria to talk about how the Birmingham Royal Ballet's production of The Nutcracker evolved, the challenges of touring and her favourite moment of the ballet.
