Angela Gheorghiu on the Classic FM Interview

Every week, Nick Ferrari talks to the world's biggest stars for The Classic FM Interview. This week Nick was joined by one of the biggest names in opera today - Angela Gheorghiu.

A performer famed both for her immense talent and notorious reputation, the Romanian-born soprano has enjoyed international stardom ever since her performance as Violetta in the opera La Traviata in 1994. 

Angela set the opera world alight once again recently with the announcement that she will star opposite her partner Roberto Alagna in a revival of the Royal Opera House's famous production of La Bohème. She is also starring alongside Vittorio Grigolo in a live screening of Gounod’s Faust as part of the Royal Opera House's new cinema season. November will see the release of her new album, a collection of opera arias which sees Angela paying tribute to opera singer Maria Callas.

In this revealing interview Angela talks to Nick Ferrari all about her upbringing in Romania, the joys of motherhood, what opera means to her and her plans for the future.
