André takes on Verdi’s Drinking Song from La Traviata on his new album of Roman-inspired music - and you can hear it right now, exclusively.

This morning on John Suchet’s show, we unveiled the first glimpse of the new album from violinist, orchestra-leader and King of the Waltz André Rieu.

The album is called Roman Holiday so, naturally, André’s tempted us with a slice of Italian-inspired music: Verdi’s Drinking Song from La Traviata, otherwise known as ‘Libiamo ne' lieti calici’.

The album itself was launched at a special event in Rome earlier this week, to which Classic FM’s John Suchet was specially invited by André himself. Basically, they hung out and took selfies with each other:

Roman Holiday is released on November 13th.
