2Cellos cover Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' in new video

6 January 2015, 11:18

2Cellos have covered Avicii's chart-topping single 'Wake Me Up' for their latest viral video.

It's the latest in a long line of inspired videos that see the duo tackle a hugely diverse range of cover versions, from Iron Maiden and AC/DC to Sting and Mumford & Sons.

For this video, the duo takes us on a journey from their beginnings in the classroom, to the present day and their head-banging club appearances, all the way to an imagined future where they still manage to wreak havoc in an old people's home. All in four minutes.

They show us exactly what it was like for them learning the cello as kids

Smash the system!

Then they show us how things are in 2015

Quite fun, apparently.

And then they look to the future

Where, apparently, they will be inciting riots among the elderly while holding cello bows in their false teeth.

It features soul singer Aloe Blacc on vocals and was the third biggest-selling UK single of 2014.
